Themes and Invited Speakers
SSPC-16 will be a comprehensive meeting focusing on recent advances in all areas of Protonics. The organizers have chosen invited speakers whose research activities reflect the multidisciplinary and international nature of these areas. The intent of the symposium is to provide researchers from academic, government and industrial laboratories an interdisciplinary forum for interaction, discussion and exchange of ideas on recent fundamental advances in proton incorporation and transport in solid state materials, and their impact on the development of technological devices, particularly in the area of electrochemical energy conversion. The conference will open with a plenary presentation providing an overview of where the field lies and will conclude with a final session devoted to a discussion of outstanding scientific questions and future directions.
Key topical areas to be covered in this symposium include:
• Materials: ceramics, polymers, salts, composites
• Mechanisms: theoretical, structural and spectroscopic studies
• Properties: electrical and electrochemical, structural, transport phenomena
• Applications: fuel cells, electrolyser, electrocatalysis, electrochemical reactors, hydrogen pumps
